Finding My Niche | Tanya Marie Art Blog

I started this blog as a kind of diary for myself — a place I can look back on to see where my journey began and how it evolved.

Lately, I've been deep in the studio, experimenting across mediums and subjects. If you've browsed my website, you've probably noticed I'm all over the place. But somewhere in the middle of all that creating, something clicked: I am most alive when I'm making textured abstract paintings.

Abstract art is unlike anything else. There's no need for precision the way there is when painting a flower or a portrait. And don't get me wrong — I love all kinds of subjects and mediums. But with abstract work, I can simply let go. I can sink into the process, shape texture and color around my mood, and blend on the canvas in a way that feels like pure expression.

I don't have to think. I can just feel.

That realization has led me to a decision: I'm going to slowly transition this website to focus exclusively on textured abstract painting. As new pieces are listed, I'll gradually phase out the other categories.

It's going to be a process — but I hope you'll stick around for the transformation. What a wild ride this is!
